Layered Template #12

For a long time, this was one of my favorite LOs. I created it almost exactly a year ago for a contest at Divine Digital. I can't believe how much a little girl can change in a year -- from nearly two to nearly three.

At the time, the challenge required we use the quote you see there: "Life without risks is not worth living." - Charles Lindberg. I remember struggling with that, because I didn't have any "risky" pictures -- I hadn't seen my newborn or my nearly-two-year-old skateboarding, surfing, skiing, riding motorcycles, etc. So I had to be creative with my use of this quote. In the process, this word art came into being, and I'm including that for you today as well.

You can download the 8x8, 300dpi LO right HERE. It's a layered PSD file, per usual. The word art is a layer of its own within the file.

If you would like a PNG file of the word art, it's HERE. I have it in three varieties: white, black, and glass/transparent.

Happy Friday!

I haven't been too huge into digital scrapbooking because before today I 'created' (used loosely) my own layouts. It made for very boring pages as I lack any creativity, but I just haven't been able to find templates I like. I found your website today though and have downloaded all of your templates. I LOVE them. They are just my style- neat, clean, I can use more than one picture, and the focus is on the pictures instead of the paper or elements. Thank you so much for all of these! Now hopefully I can figure out how to make a double sided template with these without making you look too bad. :)

Sarah, I just found your blog through IkeaGoddess and I just have to say Wow! I love your templates, they are fantastic. I'm not an 8x8 scrapper, but I will convert these to 12x12 (as best as I can do!) to use. I love your placement of pictures, nice clean lines, not overly embellished, really fabulous style!!! Thanks for the tip about the text on a square (I struggle with getting proper word breaks on text paths all the time!). Thank you for being so generous with these amazing templates! :-)

thanks so much, sarah! and having the word art in a separate file was wonderful, because i should be able to easily create a layered png template from your psd file. have a great weekend!

Today I used your template and quote for one of my own LO's. I had the same problem about the risky pictures ;-)
If you want to see the result, you can take a look at my blog (www.nikkiescrap.blogspot.com)

Hi Sarah,

Can you tell me what font you used for the WordArt?

Thanks!

Hi Sarah, it's me again ;-)
I just made my second LO (the page next to your template) but unfortunately Arriere Garde isn't the same font as you used in your quote...So if you have any other idea..I would like to hear it!!

Thanks anyway!
